BACTERIAL WILT.

 

Bacterial wilt – bacterial disease at which bacteria develop in spending system. Causes withering of separate organs or the whole plant. The bacterial wilt meets on all cultures.

• Bacterial wilt of tomatoes (Pseudomonas solanacearum).

 

• Sunflower bacterial wilt (Pseudomonas solanacearum).

BACTERIAL WILT OF TOMATOES.

DISEASE SOURCE. The reason is bacterium Pseudomonas solanacearum which gets through wounds. An incubation period 3 days. The bacterium develops at optimum temperature 36^оС. In soil the bacterium remains some years. Dangerous disease for areas with a warm and damp climate, especially on soils poor on nitrogen extends through tubers, seedling, plant residues, irrigation waters etc.

SYMPTOMS. Plants become covered chlorosis and wither. Sometimes the bottom leaves fall down, the plant suddenly withers and perishes. On a stalk air roots grow.

At a cut of a stalk wood light yellow or yellowy-brown, in some cases considerably core rotting. Fruits get milky-white colour, at contact fall down.

DISEASE SOURCE. The reason is bacterium Pseudomonas solanacearum.

SYMPTOMS. Disease causes withering and lodging of plants. At a stalk cut defeats as at tomatoes are visible.

DISEASE SOURCE. The reason is bacterium Corynebacterium insidiosum.

DISEASE SOURCE. The reason is bacterium Erwinia papaveri. The bacterium remains in seeds and plant residues.

SYMPTOMS. Disease is shown in two forms: system and local. The system form not typical for a bacterial wilt. It is expressed as green-brown rotting at the basis of a stalk which quickly extends upward and covers all plant. The local form of disease is shown by grey-green or green-brown stains on leaves and a box.

BEAN BACTERIAL WILT.

 

DISEASE SOURCE. The reason is bacterium Corynebacterium flaccumfaciens. Disease gets through wounds, and then through spending system gets into seeds where remains till 25 years. An incubation period of 5 days. Optimum temperature of development 16-28^оС. A bacterium resistant by a drought, a sunlight and frosts.

SYMPTOMS. The general delay in development of plants, then withering and destruction of a plant.

BACTERIAL DRYING OF TOMATOES.

 

Bacterial disease of elevated parts of tomatoes.

DISEASE SOURCE. The reason is bacterium Corynebacterium michiganense, remains in seeds till 3 years, and in plant residues till 1 year. Disease attacks and other cultures of family. Extends through seeds or through fresh wounds on plants. The optimum temperature for development 28^оС, and perishes at 47^оС. The Incubation period about 12-20 days. Extends on everywhere.

SYMPTOMS. Disease is shown under two forms: system and local. At the system form there is a withering of leaves or the whole plant which then dries up. At infection of adult

plants there is a delay in development and plants turn yellow. Fruits of tomatoes grow small, are covered by profound stains and at a wind fall down. At a cut wood of yellowy-brown colour, and a core brown. At the local form leaves and a stalk are covered by small rusty stains. On stain fruits white with the dark centre.

DISEASE SOURCE. The reason is bacterium Xanthomonas campestris. The primary infection is shown in rotting of shoots, backlog in development, rotting of a stalk and all plant. The infection remains in seeds till 3 years.

SYMPTOMS. On leaves pale stains with a dark brown fringing expand. Then leaves fade and dry up. Wood of a stalk of dark brown colour with yellow secretion.

DISEASE SOURCE. The reason is bacterium Erwinia vitivora. The bacterium remains in soil and the infected plants. Extends with a planting stock. Conditions for development are created at preservation of ennobled shanks in infected and strongly damp sand, at grapes cultivation on heavy soils with low subsoil waters.

SYMPTOMS. After planting of the infected vineyard, in a current of 3-4 years the part of plantings perishes, in heavy winters of a plant freeze and perishes. On branches there are damages to a kind of shells. If to remove a bark brown and watery stains are visible. On leaves there are watery points. Tops of branches are bent and dry up. The plant perishes.

BACTERIAL SPOT.

BACTERIAL SPOT OF STONE FRUIT CROPS OF CULTURES.

DISEASE SOURCE. The reason is bacterium Xanthomonas pruni and Bacillus pumilus. Bacteria are carried by insects and a rain. Winters in the infected branches of trees.

 

SYMPTOMS. On leaves watery stains of the wrong form, light yellow and reddish with the brown centre, with yellowish secretion. Branches and fruits are covered by small stains with pitch allocation.
