REQUIREMENT OF PLANTS FOR MOLYBDENUM.

 

In tissues of plants molybdenum contains in small quantities (0,1-20 mg/kg of dry mass), in comparison with other microelements. Bean cultures contain more molybdenum (0,5-20 mg/kg), than others (0,1-1,0 mg/kg); land organs contain more molybdenum, than a root system; leaves – more than root crops and roots. The considerable quantity of molybdenum in outgrowths (bibs) legumes.

Molybdenum participates in many processes of a metabolism of the lowest and higher plants, but the main thing in regulation of reduction-oxidising reaction in some links of exchange nitrogen, phosphorus and iron and in biosynthesis of chlorophyll, carbohydrates and an ascorbic acid. Under the influence of molybdenum fiber in legumes raises and the quantity of amino acids changes.

 

At deficiency of molybdenum there come infringements in a phosphoric exchange – the content of inorganic phosphates in tissues of plants increases, and organic - decreases. The ascorbic acid content in plants that reduces chlorophyll formation in leaves sharply decreases.

SOIL AS THE SOURCE OF MOLYBDENUM FOR PLANTS.

 

The content of the general molybdenum in superficial horizons of the Bulgarian soils is in borders of soil of 0,3-3,0 mg/kg. In soil molybdenum can meet in forms of crystal lattices of soil minerals; as a component of an organic substance of soil; under the form of soluble salts It is etc. proved, that with soil acidity increase solubility and availability molybdenum connections for plants decreases.

REQUIREMENT OF SEPARATE CROPS FOR MOLYBDENUM.

 

Most strongly bean cultures, especially lucerne, a bean, a soya, a clover require molybdenum. And as other cultures, such as: a cauliflower, a tomato, cucumbers, salads, sunflower, a clap, flax and a sugar beet, especially at cultivation of these cultures on water-logged soils with the high content of nitrates and in a long cold snap.

To sympathetic on molybdenum it is possible to carry natural haws and pastures, and to poorly sympathetic – grain crops, except for barley.

The greatest quantity of molybdenum in typical grey-wood and dark grey forest soils is more than in chernozems, the meadow and salted soils.

 

SOILS WITH THE LOW CONTENT OF MOLYBDENUM.

 

The lowest content of molybdenum is:

  • In brown soils;
  • In calcareous and typical loamy soils;
  • In typical and wash out chernozems;
  • In the grey and stony forest soils formed on granite plates.

At cultivation of crops on soils with the low content of molybdenum the foliar top dressing the Natural microfertilizer «MOLYBDENUM HUMATE» in a dose of 0,6-0,8 l/hectares is required.

The foliar top dressing a microfertilizer «MOLYBDENUM HUMATE» is obligatory at cultivation of crops sensitive to molybdenum: bean cultures (especially a lucerne, a bean, a soya, a clover), a cauliflower, a tomato, cucumbers, salads, sunflower, a clap, flax and a sugar beet.

Deficiency of molybdenum in soil can increase in a case:

  • High humidity and considerable quantity of rains;
  • In a long cold snap;
  • Entering of phosphoric fertilizers;
  • Entering calcium fertilizers etc.

 

In this case deficiency of molybdenum can be reduced through a soil cultivation of 0,003 % a solution of the Natural microfertilizer «MOLYBDENUM HUMATE».

VISUAL SIGNS IN PLANTS AND ILLNESS CAUSED BY DEFICIENCY OF MOLYBDENUM.

 

The visual signs showing deficiency of molybdenum are various on separate cultures.

On lucerne and clover leaves develops a chlorosis, it is more strongly expressed on ground floors, as a result of disease crops turn yellow and become motley, from dark to light stains – depending on molybdenum deficiency. The molybdenum content in leaves is less 0,28 mg/kg of dry mass.

At a plant bean become pale-green, old leaves become covered by stains and perish, and young leaves remain green, flowering and formation of seeds a decrease.

At wheat of edge of leaves are amazed necrosis, and the sheet area becomes wavy and becomes covered by chlorosis stains.

 

At oats leaves are bent and break, appears a chlorosis similar to deficiency of nitrogen.

At sunflower (at deficiency of molybdenum) in an early phase (3 - 4th sheet) develops a chlorosis, blades are bent, turn yellow and twist in inside, in the form of a castle. At stronger molybdenum deficiency along the edges of leaves are formed necrosis stains.

 

At corn in very early phase (3-5th sheet) it is shown a chlorosis which covers the whole plant, growth strongly decreases, roots and a stalk are poorly developed also thin, tops of leaves to come to watery, and colouring turns pale, leaves dry up, the considerable part of the amazed plants perishes.

At a cauliflower leaves get the form of filaments and are non-uniformly notched, covered blue-green by stains. Quality of cultivated production strongly decreases.

Symptoms molybdenum deficiency at tomatoes and a potato are strongly similar to symptoms at sunflower. It is shown a chlorosis and the twisting of blades, strongly decreases formation of flowers and fruits.

 

Citrus fruit crops have a disease a yellow spot. In the end of summer leaves become covered by yellow stains and there is earlier a falling off of ovaries. The Amazed leaves fall down and strongly productivity of citrus decreases. At strong defeat citron trees completely dump leaves, and then perish.

At strong defeat of a tissue of leaves become covered necrosis. The bottom leaves at first perish, and then leaves and from the top floors of plants are amazed.

THE DEFEAT REASON: Deficiency of molybdenum. Disease is shown on soils with sour reaction and at

plentiful entering of nitric fertilizers.
