ZINC
REQUIREMENT OF THE PLANT FOR ZINC.
Crops distinguish among themselves as under the zinc content in unit of dry mass, and on extraction with a crop of certain quantity of zinc from area unit. Usually wild plants contain more zinc, than cultural, leguminous – more than others, young - more than old. The zinc content in plants depends and on conditions of cultivation of crops. At normal nutritious mode zinc arriving in plants concentrates mainly in growing points, in young leaves and in generative organs and the main thing – in germs of seeds. At a lack of zinc of a nutrient medium the zinc considerable quantity concentrates in a root system, especially at low temperatures and reduction of solar intensity, small quantities – in a stalk and it is even less – in leaves.
Zinc plays the semifunctional roles in a metabolism of plants. It makes direct or indirect impact on photosynthesis, breath, biosynthesis of a chlorophyll and growth regulators, phosphoric, nitric and a carbohydrate metabolism. Favourable influence of zinc on biosynthesis of a chlorophyll and photosynthesis reaction is proved.
At zinc lack the sucrose and solid content in fruits of a tomato, citron and other plants decreases, the relative share of reducing sugar at the same time increases. Zinc plays a part in a nitric exchange of a plant. At a lack of zinc of tissues of plants the content of nitrates, free amino acids and amines sharply raises, the quantity of fiber
decreases. Zinc levelling in the food medium influences a phosphoric exchange in plants. In plants which test zinc insufficiency phosphorus mainly in the inorganic form, both in a root system, and in elevated organs is accumulated, fiber biosynthesis decreases. At zinc deficiency in plants process of biosynthesis of regulators of growth and the main thing of regulators alkaloids the nature is broken.
REQUIREMENT OF SEPARATE CULTURES FOR ZINC.
Various kinds of crops, and sometimes and some breeds, have various requirement for zinc. We can divide them into three groups:
Crops feeling strong requirement for zinc: fruit and citron trees, corn, a soya, flax, a clap and grapes.
Cultures feeling average requirement for zinc: tomatoes, cucumbers, pumpkin cultures, lucerne, a clover, a bean, tobacco, a potato, a sugar and red beet and others.
Cultures feeling small requirement for zinc: oats, barley, a rye, wheat, corn grasses, carrot and others.
SOIL AS THE SOURCE OF ZINC FOR PLANTS.
Superficial horizons of the Bulgarian soils contain zinc of soil of 2,5-160 mg/kg. In soil zinc meets in the various forms: minerals containing zinc, a little soluble zinc salts, complex metal-organic connections, water-soluble zinc salts etc. Zinc hydrate, carbonates and the phosphates formed in soil, it is not enough soluble, also are less acquired by plants. Rather easily zinc is released from metal-organic connections, complexes with low stability and high availability plants are created.
Zinc in acid soils is most mobile, at рН 5 and is less mobile in subacidic and neutral soils, at рН 5,5-7. At the alkaline medium mobility of zinc increases.
The highest content of zinc soils in area Rodopi Rozhen differ and in district Beklemeto in area is Stara Planina. The high content of zinc in marsh, meadow and typical grey-wood soils, and as in loamy soils.
SOILS WITH THE LOW CONTENT OF MOBILE ZINC.
It is established, that in Bulgaria two big areas with the low content of mobile zinc are isolated:
1. Dunaevsky and Shumensko-Varnensky areas with calcareous chernozems.
2. Areas with calcareous loams about Burgas, Elhovsko, Yambolsko and Nova Zagora.
The low content of mobile zinc in calcareous chernozems and humus-calcareous soils. At cultivation of crops on soils with the low content of mobile zinc is required the foliar top dressing with Natural microfertilizer «ZINC HUMATE» in a dose of 0,6-1,2 l/hectares.
The foliar top dressing a microfertilizer «ZINC HUMATE» is obligatory at cultivation of crops sensitive to zinc: fruit and citron trees, corn, a soya, flax, a clap and grapes. And as: tomatoes, cucumbers, pumpkin cultures, lucerne, a clover, a bean, tobacco, a potato, a sugar and red beet.VISUAL SIGNS IN PLANTS AND DISEASES CAUSED BY ZINC DEFICIENCY.
At all cultures, suffering zinc deficiency, the delay in growth and almost full termination of growth of a plant is characteristic. From field cultures the good indicator, at deficiency of zinc, the corn which between ribs, from a basis to top has wide is light-green, yellowish and opaque-transparent strips. The main veins keep green colour. Sometimes by the bottom part of the area of sheet there are big and small white-yellow stains, the albino (sheet and a stalk of a plant without a pigment), a part of leaves firm, narrow and long is sometimes shown a chlorosis.
At an apple-tree leaves are deformed also their edges more or less twirled, at a pear the top part of sheet is raised to top, and at a mazzard cherry leaves are twirled to top as a castle. Fruits small and deformed. At the big deficiency of zinc trees perish.
The lack and deficiency of mobile zinc causes following important diseases of plants:
Natural microfertilizer «ZINC HUMATE» - an effective remedy for overcoming zinc chlorosis on fruit-trees, vineyards, corn and other cultures and for
Increase yields of corn, barley, tobacco, clap, soya, tomatoes and other vegetable cultures which cultivate on calcareous chernozems and on other soils with subacidic and
Neutral reaction.
ZINC THE CHLOROSIS AT CORN.
Disease has appeared after introduction of intensive technologies of cultivation of corn and there is a direct dependence with soil conditions and a feed of plants.
SYMPTOMS: the Chlorosis extends on crops not in regular intervals, on one places of a plant is strongly amazed, and on other places – develop normally. First signs chlorosis appears at young plants, in a phase of development 3-4 leafs. In the basis of a wide part of sheet there are the flavovirent, light yellow or whitish strips located along the central nerve which reach periphery and sheet top. Usually third of sheet remains green. Usually to a phase of emission of a brush two top sheets while are twirled round the basic stalk, look healthy and normally green, and however at opening of the top leaves traces chlorosis at the basis of leaves are visible. Later leaves grow white, and at strong zinc deficiency appears a necrosis. Sick plants considerably below healthy also lag behind in development for 8-10 days, heads of cabbage small and fragile.
THE DEFEAT REASON: Deficiency of zinc. Certain conditions are necessary for display of this disease. The most important condition – the low content of mobile zinc, blocking of zinc and its transformation into the form inaccessible to plants. Calcareous chernozems with sour reaction of a soil solution and entering of mineral phosphoric fertilizers help disease display. Most in large quantities disease is observed at cultivation of corn after a sugar beet, sunflower and after early (July - August) deep soil cultivation after the predecessor.
PROPHYLAXIS: For elimination of causes of illness three various methods are required:
1. Entering into soil of fertilizers containing zinc, however effect from entering of zinc sulphate rather low.
2. A presowing cultivation of seeds solutions of zinc salts. Very good result is given by processing of seeds by a solution of a specialised Natural stimulator "CORN" with the high content of accessible zinc and other nutrients.
3. Unroot processing of plants by solutions of zinc fertilizer, is better to apply the Natural microfertilizer «the ZINC HUMATE» in a dose of 0,6-1,2 l/hectares, in phase developments 3-4 leafs. However foliar top dressing carrying out by special fertilizer «OM FERTILIZER FOR CORN» not only protects plants from disease, but also guarantees high productivity of corn (Field tests see).
Moderate entering of phosphoric fertilizers with a uniform distribution on all area. Is better to apply «PHOSPHORUSHUMATE», that is much cheaper and more effective.
CURLINESS HOP.
SYMPTOMS: At height of hop of 1,5-3 m appears a chlorosis between veins and a twisting of sheet round the main nerve. Plants with the twirled leaves looks as curly – from here and the disease name. Later leaves get crimson colour and there comes defoliation. Disease symptoms appear and on lateral branches. Leaves narrow, bent to the middle and with poorly developed chlorosis which remains till the end of vegetation. Plants remain weak; lag behind in growth and development. Productivity low with low technological qualities.
THE DEFEAT REASON: Deficiency of accessible zinc in soil.
PROPHYLAXIS: Unroot processing of plants by the Natural
